Project Description

Project Description

Strategic Spaces’ director, Angela Stephens was previously employed to design furniture ranges for Marie Claire, Paris. Her furniture outcomes delved into the key characteristics and influences of the Parisian lifestyle. Extensive research into trends, colour and form were required to design four distinct ranges, each with separate identities and fit for a targeted audience.

The Ecologique range incorporated timber construction and fabric upholstery, using minimalistic styling with ecological cues. The range incorporated earthy colours and pigmentations, textures and finishes, creating a raw and charming aesthetic.

The Poetique range applied flowing relief patterns, rigid shapes and smooth curves. Materials, finishes and textures were selected to enhance the mood, however with a splash of colour and excitement.

The Romantique range was a refined, simplified and modern exploration of form with sentimental undertones. The use of earthy colours complemented by rich, warm highlights made this a sophisticated and elegant collection with a feminine touch.

The Iconique range was an exploration of simple forms with a playful interpretation of the Marie Claire brand and unorthodox use of materials. Iconique demonstrated how these simple shapes can develop into unique and iconic pieces, via repetition, dimension and material experimentation.
